After the successful first edition in 2008, the second edition of Les Canaux de la Mode is planned for November 2010 – January 2011.

 

The concept will remain the same as the first time: Dutch fashion designers and French craftsmen will connect on both creative and business levels. Their collaboration will result in a series of unique artworks and prototypes that reveal the qualities of both worlds. The world of the designer and the world of the craftsman will inspire each other, clash and create something new. They will ultimately connect the Mind and Hand with the Heart.

 

The artworks will be displayed in an exhibition that focuses both on the process of the co-creation as the final result itself in two locations in both Amsterdam and Paris. Next to the exhibition, a symposium and workshop will be organised to discuss fashion industry related issues such as intellectual property, logistics and branding.

 

The 2010 edition of Les Canaux de la Mode will kick-off on the 16th of July 2010, at the Amsterdam International Fashion Week with the symposium “A symphony of fashion crafts”. Dutch and French experts from various backgrounds will give lectures about the relevance of craftsmanship and its impact on business, education, fashion and production.
